Le Pharaoh Slot Review
Le Pharaoh is a medium-volatility video slot from Hacksaw Gaming, released on 26 September 2024. It is the second entry in the Le series, placing Smokey the raccoon in an ancient Egyptian setting. The game runs on a 6×5 grid with 19 fixed paylines, wins paying left to right. Its core mechanic is Sticky Re-drops — winning symbols stick in place and trigger re-drops until no new matching symbols land — combined with a Golden Riches feature that activates when a Rainbow symbol is present at the end of a sticky sequence. Six distinct bonus modes are available, including the top-tier Rainbow Over the Pyramids with guaranteed Rainbow activation on every spin. RTP is 96.2% in its standard configuration, with lower operator settings available down to 88.2%. Maximum win is 15,000x the stake — the highest cap in the current Le series.

How to play Le Pharaoh
Set your stake using the bet toggle at the bottom of the screen — the range runs from £0.10 to £100. Press Spin or activate Autoplay via the menu. Autoplay lets you set the number of rounds along with win and loss limits. Turbo mode is available to speed up animations.
Wins form on 19 fixed paylines from left to right, requiring three or more matching symbols starting from the leftmost reel. All 19 lines are always active — there is no option to reduce them. A Wild symbol substitutes for all regular paying symbols but does not substitute for FS scatters, Rainbow, or any special bonus symbols.
The distinctive element of the base game is Sticky Re-drops. When a winning combination lands, all contributing symbols stick in place and a re-drop occurs — new symbols fall into the non-sticky positions. If any new matching symbols land adjacent to the sticky ones and extend the win, they also stick and another re-drop follows. This chain continues until no new wins extend the sticky sequence. Every position a symbol sticks to creates a Golden Square marker behind it, which becomes relevant if a Rainbow symbol is present when the sequence ends.

Special symbols
- Wild (Scroll): Substitutes for all regular paying symbols. Pays 27x for 6-of-a-kind on a line. Does not substitute for FS, Rainbow, Coins, Clovers, Pots of Gold, or Stone Tablets.
- FS Scatter: Landing 3, 4, or 5 FS symbols in the base game triggers the Bonus Choice menu or Rainbow Over the Pyramids respectively.
- Rainbow: Does not pay directly. If present on the grid at the end of a Sticky Re-drop sequence, it activates the Golden Riches feature — revealing coin values across all accumulated Golden Squares.
- Bronze / Silver / Gold Coins: Appear during Golden Riches and bonus modes. Values: Bronze 0.2x–4x; Silver 5x–20x; Gold 25x–500x.
- Green Clover: Multiplies adjacent Coins or Pots of Gold by 2x–20x before final collection.
- Golden Clover: Multiplies all Coins and Pots of Gold on the entire grid by 2x–20x.
- Pot of Gold: Collects the aggregated values of all visible Coins and other Pots on the grid. Activates after Clover multiplications. Golden Squares reactivate once after each collection, potentially revealing new symbols before the final payout.
- Adding Stone Tablet: Appears in Lost Treasures modes only. Adds 1x–500x to a random Coin per spin.
- Multiplying Stone Tablet: Appears in Lost Treasures modes only. Multiplies a random Coin by 2x–20x per spin.
Le Pharaoh bonus features
Sticky Re-drops
The Sticky Re-drops mechanic is active in every spin, including the base game and all free spin modes. When a winning combination lands, all symbols forming part of that win stick to the grid. A re-drop follows — new symbols fall into the vacant positions. Any new matching symbols that extend or add to the existing sticky group also stick, and another re-drop occurs. The chain continues until a re-drop produces no new matching sticky additions.
Each position a symbol sticks to creates a Golden Square marker. If a Rainbow symbol is present anywhere on the grid when the Sticky Re-drop sequence ends, all accumulated Golden Squares activate — triggering the Golden Riches feature. If no Rainbow is present, the sticky symbols are cleared and the spin pays out normally.
Golden Riches
Activates at the end of a Sticky Re-drop sequence when a Rainbow symbol is visible on the grid. All Golden Squares simultaneously reveal one of the following: Bronze Coin (0.2x–4x), Silver Coin (5x–20x), Gold Coin (25x–500x), Green Clover, Golden Clover, or Pot of Gold.
The activation sequence runs in a fixed order: first, Green Clovers multiply their adjacent Coins and Pots by 2x–20x; then Golden Clovers multiply all visible Coins and Pots on the grid by 2x–20x; finally, each Pot of Gold collects the aggregated values of all visible Coins and other Pots. After the last Pot collects, all Golden Squares reactivate once more — revealing a second round of symbols before the final payout is calculated. This double-activation means a single Golden Riches trigger can chain two full coin reveal sequences.
Bonus Choice — Luck of the Pharaoh and Lost Treasures
Landing 3 FS scatter symbols in the base game opens the Bonus Choice menu. The player selects one of two modes:
- Luck of the Pharaoh: 10 free spins. Sticky Re-drops and Golden Riches are active. Golden Squares remain highlighted between spins throughout the entire bonus — they accumulate and are only cleared when activated by a Rainbow. Retrigger: 2 FS = +2 spins; 3 FS = +4 spins.
- Lost Treasures: A respin mode with 3 refilling lives. Standard paytable symbols do not appear — only Coins, Pots of Gold, Clovers, Adding Stone Tablets, Multiplying Stone Tablets, and Dead symbols. Any spin that lands at least one active symbol resets lives to 3; three consecutive Dead spins end the round. Stone Tablets modify Coin values each spin — Adding Tablets add 1x–500x to a random Coin; Multiplying Tablets multiply a random Coin by 2x–20x. Final payout is the sum of all visible Coin and Pot values.
Bonus Choice — Super Luck of the Pharaoh and Super Lost Treasures
Landing 4 FS symbols opens an upgraded Bonus Choice menu with two enhanced modes:
- Super Luck of the Pharaoh: 12 free spins. Mechanics identical to Luck of the Pharaoh but with a higher frequency of high-value Coins (Silver and Gold) and Pot of Gold symbols. A Clover symbol is guaranteed to appear every time Golden Riches activates, ensuring at least one multiplier applies to every coin reveal sequence.
- Super Lost Treasures: Mechanics identical to Lost Treasures, but an Adding Stone Tablet is guaranteed on the first spin. Higher frequency of Gold Coins and Diamonds throughout the round.
Rainbow Over the Pyramids
Triggered by landing 5 FS scatter symbols in a single base game spin. This is the top-tier bonus and cannot be purchased via Bonus Buy. Awards 12 free spins. Golden Squares remain highlighted throughout the entire bonus and never reset between spins. A Rainbow symbol is guaranteed to land on every single spin — meaning Golden Riches activates on every spin without exception. The combination of permanently accumulating Golden Squares and guaranteed Rainbow activation every spin is the primary route to the 15,000x maximum win. Retrigger: 2 FS = +2 spins; 3 FS = +4 spins.
Bonus Buy in Le Pharaoh
Le Pharaoh includes five Bonus Buy options. Rainbow Over the Pyramids cannot be purchased — it requires a natural 5-scatter trigger. Bonus Buy is unavailable in the UK under UKGC regulations; check availability at your specific casino before registering.
| Option | Cost | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| BonusHunt FeatureSpins™ | 3x stake (per spin) | Each spin has 5x enhanced odds of triggering a bonus mode. Normal gameplay continues — no guaranteed bonus entry. |
| Rainbow FeatureSpins™ | 50x stake | A Rainbow symbol is guaranteed to land on every spin during a set number of feature spins. Golden Riches activates consistently, generating coin reveals without full bonus entry. |
| Luck of the Pharaoh | 100x stake | Instant entry to Luck of the Pharaoh — 10 free spins with persistent Golden Squares and active Sticky Re-drops. Retriggering possible. |
| Lost Treasures | 200x stake | Instant entry to Lost Treasures respin mode with 3 refilling lives, Stone Tablets, and coin-collection payout structure. |
| Rainbow Over the Pyramids | 400x stake | Instant entry to the top-tier 12 free spin mode with guaranteed Rainbow every spin and permanently active Golden Squares. Highest purchasable option. |
The 400x Rainbow Over the Pyramids purchase gives direct access to the mode with the highest win ceiling. The 50x Rainbow FeatureSpins option is the lowest-cost route to consistent Golden Riches activations without committing to a full bonus. Note that Super Luck of the Pharaoh and Super Lost Treasures (4-scatter triggers) are not available via Bonus Buy in any configuration. Always verify which RTP setting your casino is running before purchasing.
Le Pharaoh on mobile
Le Pharaoh is fully optimised for mobile play on iOS and Android. The 6×5 grid scales cleanly to portrait and landscape orientations with no loss of symbol clarity or control access. All features — including the Bonus Buy menu, Autoplay, Turbo mode, and the Bonus Choice selection screen — are accessible via touch controls in the mobile version.
- Platforms: iOS (Safari, Chrome) and Android (Chrome)
- Orientation: Portrait and landscape — layout adapts to both
- Tested on: iPhone 14 (Safari), Samsung Galaxy S23 (Chrome)
- Performance: Sticky Re-drop chains, Golden Riches coin reveals, and Clover/Pot of Gold collection sequences render smoothly on mid-range devices with no perceptible lag
- Controls: Spin, Autoplay, bet toggle, Bonus Choice selection, and menu icons are well-spaced for thumb use in both orientations
We tested on standard UK 4G and home broadband — load times were fast in both cases, and the Bonus Choice menu and multi-step coin activation sequences performed consistently across both devices.
Our take
Le Pharaoh is the most mechanically layered entry in the Le series to date. The combination of Sticky Re-drops, a choice-based bonus system, and six distinct bonus modes gives it more session variety than either Le Bandit or Le Viking — and the 15,000x maximum win cap is higher than either of its series companions. The Bonus Choice mechanic at 3 and 4 scatters is a genuine differentiator: two meaningfully different bonus structures rather than a single escalating ladder gives players with different risk preferences a relevant decision to make on each trigger.
The standout design choice is the double-activation within Golden Riches — the fact that Golden Squares reactivate once after the Pot of Gold collects means a single Rainbow trigger can chain two full coin reveal sequences. In practice this is what separates a moderate Golden Riches outcome from a large one, and it adds a layer of suspense to the activation that plays well in real time.
The variable RTP range from 88.2% to 96.2% is the main practical concern. The gap between the best and worst configuration is larger here than in most slots, and checking the active setting before playing — particularly before any Bonus Buy — is essential. At 96.2% the game is competitive; at 88.2% it is significantly below market average. The base game is relatively quiet between bonus triggers, which is expected for a mechanics-heavy slot, but players who prefer more base game action may find the wait between sticky sequences longer than they would like.
Le Pharaoh FAQ
What is Le Pharaoh?
Le Pharaoh is a video slot by Hacksaw Gaming released on 26 September 2024. It is the second entry in the Le series and features the raccoon character Smokey in an ancient Egyptian setting. The game runs on a 6×5 grid with 19 fixed paylines, a Sticky Re-drops mechanic, and six bonus modes — including a Bonus Choice system triggered by 3 or 4 FS scatters and the top-tier Rainbow Over the Pyramids bonus triggered by 5 scatters.
What is the RTP of Le Pharaoh?
The standard RTP is 96.2%. Operators can configure lower settings — 94%, 92%, or 88.2%. The active RTP at your casino is visible in the in-game paytable. Always check before playing, and particularly before using any Bonus Buy option. The range between the highest and lowest setting is larger in Le Pharaoh than in most comparable slots.
How do you trigger the bonus rounds in Le Pharaoh?
Landing 3 FS symbols opens the Bonus Choice menu — choose between Luck of the Pharaoh (10 free spins) or Lost Treasures (respin mode with 3 lives). Landing 4 FS symbols opens an upgraded menu with Super Luck of the Pharaoh or Super Lost Treasures. Landing 5 FS symbols triggers Rainbow Over the Pyramids (12 spins, guaranteed Rainbow every spin). All modes except Rainbow Over the Pyramids are also accessible via Bonus Buy where permitted.
What is the Bonus Choice mechanic?
When 3 or 4 FS symbols land in the base game, the player is presented with a choice between two structurally different bonus modes. At 3 scatters: Luck of the Pharaoh (free spins with persistent Golden Squares) or Lost Treasures (respin mode with coin economy and Stone Tablets). At 4 scatters: Super versions of both with improved symbol frequencies. The choice is made once per trigger and cannot be changed after selection.
Can you buy the bonus in Le Pharaoh?
Yes — four of the six bonus modes are available via Bonus Buy: BonusHunt FeatureSpins™ (3x), Rainbow FeatureSpins™ (50x), Luck of the Pharaoh (100x), Lost Treasures (200x), and Rainbow Over the Pyramids (400x). The Super Luck of the Pharaoh and Super Lost Treasures modes (4-scatter triggers) cannot be purchased. In the UK, Bonus Buy is not available at UKGC-licensed casinos.
What is the maximum win in Le Pharaoh?
The maximum win is 15,000x the stake — the highest cap in the Le series. It is most reachable during Rainbow Over the Pyramids, where a guaranteed Rainbow activates Golden Riches on every spin across 12 free spins, with permanently accumulated Golden Squares enabling Gold Coin and Pot of Gold collection chains to compound across the entire round.
How does Le Pharaoh differ from Le Bandit and Le Viking?
Le Bandit uses cluster pays on a 6×5 grid with Golden Squares activated by Rainbow symbols. Le Viking uses 15,625 ways to win with a coin-collection respin structure and a four-tier free spin ladder. Le Pharaoh uses 19 fixed paylines with a Sticky Re-drops base mechanic, a two-path Bonus Choice system, and the highest max win cap in the series at 15,000x. It is also the only game in the series to offer Lost Treasures — a respin mode using Stone Tablets rather than Grid Multipliers.
Is Le Pharaoh available on mobile?
Yes. Le Pharaoh runs on iOS and Android in both portrait and landscape orientations. All features including Bonus Buy, Bonus Choice, and Autoplay are accessible on mobile. Tested on iPhone 14 and Samsung Galaxy S23 — performance was smooth on both.
Player reviews of Le Pharaoh
- James, London (2026): "Hit 5 scatters naturally after about 70 spins. Rainbow Over the Pyramids activated Golden Riches on every spin — the double-activation on spin 8 was the highlight, two Gold Coins with a Golden Clover multiplying the entire grid before the Pot collected. Ended the bonus around 420x. Takes patience but the payout structure is unlike anything else in the series."
- Claire, Edinburgh (2026): "I always pick Lost Treasures at 3 scatters — the Stone Tablets make it feel more active than the free spin mode. Had a Multiplying Tablet hit a 500x Gold Coin on spin 4 of one run. That kind of thing doesn't happen often but it's what the mode is built for."
- Tom, Manchester (2026): "Played on iPhone 14 — the Bonus Choice screen is clear and easy to tap even on a smaller display. Sticky Re-drop chains are satisfying to watch; a 6-symbol chain in the base game that ended with a Rainbow and a Pot of Gold clearing 9 Golden Squares was genuinely unexpected."
- Rachel, Bristol (2026): "Worth checking your casino's RTP setting before depositing. Mine was on 92% — found out only after opening the paytable. Switched casino and confirmed 96.2% before the next session. The game itself is solid, but the RTP gap between configurations here is wider than most slots I've played."
- Dan, Leeds (2026): "Bought into Rainbow Over the Pyramids at 400x stake once. It's the most consistent way to see how the full mechanic plays out — guaranteed Rainbow every spin with built-up Golden Squares is a different experience from reaching the same mode naturally. Whether it's worth 400x depends entirely on what your session looks like to that point."
- Sophie, Birmingham (2026): "Compared to Le Viking, the Bonus Choice system here gives you more agency. Deciding between Lucky mode and Lost Treasures based on your bankroll situation at the time of trigger feels like a real decision, not just a slot choosing for you. Super Lost Treasures with the guaranteed Adding Tablet on spin 1 built quickly in my last session."
