Le King Slot Review

Le King is a medium-volatility cluster pays slot from Hacksaw Gaming, released on 26 June 2025. It is the third entry in the Le series, placing Smokey the raccoon in a Las Vegas parody setting called Spin City. The game runs on a 6×5 grid with cluster pays — wins forming from five or more matching symbols connected horizontally or vertically. Its headline feature is a fixed jackpot system with four tiers (Mini, Major, Mega, Max) integrated into the Golden Squares mechanic, activated by a Neon Rainbow symbol. Three free spin modes are available via scatter triggers, along with four Bonus Buy options. RTP is 96.14% in its standard configuration, with lower operator settings available. Maximum win is 20,000x the stake — the highest in the Le series.

How to play Le King

Set your stake using the bet toggle at the bottom of the screen — the range runs from £0.10 to £100. Press Spin or activate Autoplay via the menu. Autoplay lets you configure the number of rounds along with win and loss limit thresholds. Turbo mode is available to reduce animation duration.

Wins form when five or more identical symbols are connected horizontally or vertically anywhere on the 6×5 grid — diagonals do not count. Winning symbols disappear and new ones fall from above, potentially creating further wins in the same spin cycle. This cascading process continues until no new winning clusters form.

After each winning cluster, the positions those symbols occupied are marked as Golden Squares. These squares do not activate immediately — they require a Neon Rainbow symbol to be present on the grid during the same spin or during a free spin round. When a Neon Rainbow appears alongside Golden Squares, all marked positions simultaneously reveal coin values, multipliers, or Jackpot Markers. The paytable and full rules are accessible via the information icon in the main menu.

Symbols and payouts

Le King uses nine regular paying symbols — four Vegas-themed premium icons and five card ranks. All payouts are multipliers of the total stake, based on cluster size. Winning clusters of 5, 6–7, 8–11, and 12+ symbols each have their own payout tier.

Special symbols

  • FS Scatter: Landing 3, 4, or 5 FS symbols in the base game triggers Spin City, Jackpot of Gold, or Viva Le Bandit respectively.
  • Neon Rainbow: Does not pay directly. When present on the grid during a spin that has accumulated Golden Squares, it activates all marked positions simultaneously — revealing coins, multipliers, Treasure Pots, or Jackpot Markers.
  • Bronze / Silver / Gold Coins: Revealed from activated Golden Squares. Values: Bronze 0.2x–4x; Silver 5x–20x; Gold 25x–500x of stake.
  • Green Clover: Multiplies adjacent Coins and Treasure Pots by 2x–20x before final collection.
  • Gold Clover: Multiplies all Coins and Treasure Pots visible on the entire grid by 2x–20x.
  • Treasure Pot: Collects the aggregated values of all visible Coins and other Treasure Pots on the grid. Activates after Clover multiplications.
  • Jackpot Markers (Mini / Major / Mega / Max): Revealed from Golden Squares or appearing directly on the grid. Activate when a Neon Rainbow is present on the same spin. Fixed values: Mini = 10x stake; Major = 100x; Mega = 1,000x; Max = 20,000x. Multiple markers landing in the same spin pay cumulatively.

Le King bonus features

Golden Squares and Neon Rainbow

Every position vacated by a winning cluster becomes a Golden Square. Squares accumulate across cascade chains within a single spin — a long cascade on a dense grid can mark a significant portion of the 6×5 grid before the spin resolves. If a Neon Rainbow symbol is present anywhere on the grid when the spin settles, all accumulated Golden Squares activate at once.

Activation plays out in a fixed sequence: first, all squares reveal their contents (Coins, Clovers, Treasure Pots, or Jackpot Markers); then Green Clovers multiply their adjacent targets by 2x–20x; then Gold Clovers multiply everything visible by 2x–20x; then Treasure Pots collect the summed values of all Coins and other Pots; finally, any Jackpot Markers pay their fixed prize. After the sequence resolves, the Golden Squares reset. If a new Neon Rainbow appears on the next spin, the process can repeat from scratch.

Jackpot Markers

Jackpot Markers are a distinct feature of Le King not present in the other Le series slots. They appear randomly on the grid or are revealed inside Golden Squares, and they represent fixed multiplier prizes tied to the current bet. A Jackpot Marker only pays out if a Neon Rainbow is present on the same spin — without a Rainbow, the marker is cleared without awarding its prize.

The four fixed tiers are: Mini (10x stake), Major (100x), Mega (1,000x), and Max (20,000x). Multiple markers landing simultaneously are cumulative — if a Mini and a Mega marker both appear on the same Rainbow-active spin, both prizes are awarded. The Max jackpot at 20,000x is the highest single-spin payout available in the Le series.

Spin City Free Spins

Triggered by landing 3 FS scatter symbols in a single base game spin. Awards 10 free spins. The key difference from the base game is that Golden Squares remain visible between spins throughout the entire bonus — they do not reset after each spin. They accumulate and are only cleared when activated by a Neon Rainbow. This allows Golden Squares to build up over multiple spins before a single Rainbow activation reveals the accumulated contents of the entire marked grid.

Retrigger: landing 2 additional FS symbols during the bonus awards +2 spins; landing 3 FS symbols awards +4 spins.

Jackpot of Gold Free Spins

Triggered by landing 4 FS symbols in a single base game spin. Awards 10 free spins. Mechanics are similar to Spin City, with one significant difference: Golden Squares remain on the grid even after activation and can be reused. Once a Rainbow activates all current squares and the sequence resolves, those squares remain marked — meaning the next Rainbow activation can trigger them again, producing a second (and potentially larger) coin reveal from the same positions. This reactivation mechanic increases the probability of stacking Clover multipliers and Treasure Pot collections across multiple Neon Rainbow events within the same bonus round.

Retrigger conditions match Spin City (2 FS = +2 spins; 3 FS = +4 spins).

Viva Le Bandit Free Spins

Triggered by landing 5 FS symbols in a single base game spin. This is the top-tier bonus mode and cannot be purchased via Bonus Buy. Awards 10 free spins. It combines the persistent and reactivatable Golden Squares of Jackpot of Gold with enhanced symbol drop rates — higher-value Coins (Silver and Gold) appear more frequently, and Jackpot Markers land at an increased rate. The elevated frequency of Neon Rainbow appearances relative to the other two modes makes this the most consistent path to multiple Jackpot Marker activations within a single bonus session.

Retrigger conditions match the other two modes.

Bonus Buy in Le King

Le King includes four Bonus Buy options. The Viva Le Bandit mode cannot be purchased — it requires a natural 5-scatter trigger. Bonus Buy is unavailable in the UK under UKGC regulations; confirm availability at your specific casino before registering.

Option Cost What you get
BonusHunt FeatureSpins™ 3x stake (per spin) Each spin has 5x enhanced odds of triggering a bonus mode. Normal gameplay continues — no guaranteed bonus entry.
Shamrock & Roll FeatureSpinsâ„¢ 60x stake (per spin) Guarantees at least one winning combination and a Neon Rainbow symbol on every spin. Maximises Golden Square activation frequency without entering a full free spin bonus.
Spin City 80x stake Instant entry to Spin City — 10 free spins with persistent Golden Squares that accumulate until a Neon Rainbow activates them. Retriggering possible.
Jackpot of Gold 250x stake Instant entry to Jackpot of Gold — 10 free spins with persistent and reactivatable Golden Squares. Highest purchasable option; Golden Squares remain after each Rainbow activation.

The 60x Shamrock & Roll option is unique to Le King and has no equivalent in the other Le series slots — guaranteed Neon Rainbow on every spin means Golden Square activation is consistent without committing to a full bonus purchase. The 250x Jackpot of Gold buy gives access to the reactivation mechanic. Viva Le Bandit (5-scatter, highest tier) is not purchasable in any configuration. Always check which RTP setting is active at your casino before using any Bonus Buy option.

Le King on mobile

Le King is fully optimised for mobile play on iOS and Android. The 6×5 grid and cascade animations adapt cleanly to portrait and landscape orientations. All features — Bonus Buy, Autoplay, Turbo mode, and the full paytable — are accessible via touch controls on mobile.

  • Platforms: iOS (Safari, Chrome) and Android (Chrome)
  • Orientation: Portrait and landscape — layout adapts to both
  • Tested on: iPhone 14 (Safari), Samsung Galaxy S23 (Chrome)
  • Performance: Cascade chains, Golden Square reveals, Jackpot Marker activations, and Clover/Treasure Pot sequences all render smoothly on mid-range devices
  • Controls: Spin, Autoplay, bet toggle, and menu icons are well-spaced for thumb use in both orientations

We tested on standard UK 4G and home broadband — load times were fast in both cases, with no dropped frames during multi-step Jackpot Marker activation sequences.

Our take

Le King is the most distinctively structured game in the Le series. The fixed jackpot system — four tiers from 10x to 20,000x, all requiring a Neon Rainbow co-activation — adds a pursuit element that is absent from Le Bandit, Le Pharaoh, and Le Viking. The Max jackpot at 20,000x is the highest single-event payout available across the entire series, and the fact that multiple Jackpot Markers pay cumulatively means that a particularly active Golden Square sequence can stack Mini, Major, and Mega prizes alongside the coin collection total.

The Jackpot of Gold reactivation mechanic — where Golden Squares persist and can be triggered multiple times by successive Rainbows — is the game's most interesting structural choice. In practice it means a long Jackpot of Gold session can build significant Clover-multiplied Treasure Pot collections across sequential activations, compounding in a way that free spin modes with resetting squares cannot match.

The main limitation is the Neon Rainbow dependency. Jackpot Markers and Golden Square activations both require a Rainbow to be present — a spin that accumulates a large grid of Golden Squares but produces no Rainbow is a missed opportunity that resets on the next spin in the base game. Players who find this stop-start rhythm frustrating may prefer the more consistent activation cadence of Le Bandit's guaranteed Rainbow in its top-tier bonus, or Le Pharaoh's Rainbow Over the Pyramids. The 96.14% standard RTP is solid; always verify the active configuration at your casino before playing.

Le King FAQ

What is Le King?

Le King is a cluster pays video slot by Hacksaw Gaming, released on 26 June 2025. It is part of the Le series and features Smokey the raccoon in a Las Vegas parody setting. The game uses a 6×5 grid with a Golden Squares mechanic, a four-tier fixed jackpot system activated by Neon Rainbow symbols, and three free spin modes triggered by 3, 4, or 5 FS scatters.

What is the RTP of Le King?

The standard RTP is 96.14%. Lower configurations are available depending on the operator. Check the in-game paytable at your casino before playing to confirm the active setting — particularly before using any Bonus Buy option.

How do you trigger the jackpots in Le King?

Jackpot Markers (Mini, Major, Mega, Max) appear randomly on the grid or are revealed inside activated Golden Squares. To receive the jackpot prize, a Neon Rainbow symbol must be present on the same spin as the marker. Without a Rainbow, the marker clears without paying. Multiple markers on the same Rainbow-active spin pay cumulatively.

What are the jackpot values in Le King?

The four fixed jackpot tiers are: Mini = 10x stake; Major = 100x; Mega = 1,000x; Max = 20,000x. The Max jackpot represents the highest single-spin payout in the Le series. All values scale with your current bet — at £1 per spin, Max pays £20,000; at £10 per spin, it pays £200,000.

How do you trigger the bonus rounds in Le King?

Landing 3 FS scatter symbols triggers Spin City (10 free spins, persistent Golden Squares). Landing 4 triggers Jackpot of Gold (10 free spins, persistent and reactivatable Golden Squares). Landing 5 triggers Viva Le Bandit (10 free spins, enhanced symbol rates, highest jackpot frequency). Spin City and Jackpot of Gold are also accessible via Bonus Buy where permitted.

Can you buy the bonus in Le King?

Yes — three of the four options are available via Bonus Buy: BonusHunt FeatureSpins™ (3x per spin), Shamrock & Roll FeatureSpins™ (60x per spin, guaranteed Neon Rainbow), Spin City (80x), and Jackpot of Gold (250x). Viva Le Bandit cannot be purchased. In the UK, Bonus Buy is not available at UKGC-licensed casinos.

What is the maximum win in Le King?

The maximum win is 20,000x the stake, achieved through the Max Jackpot Marker activating alongside a Neon Rainbow. At a £1 stake that equals £20,000; at the maximum £100 stake it equals £2,000,000. Multiple jackpot markers on the same spin pay cumulatively, so combinations of lower-tier markers can also contribute to large single-spin totals.

How does Le King differ from the other Le series slots?

Le King is the only slot in the series with a fixed jackpot system. Le Bandit uses cluster pays with Golden Squares activated by Rainbow symbols and no jackpots. Le Pharaoh uses paylines with Sticky Re-drops and a Bonus Choice system. Le Viking uses ways-to-win with a coin-collection respin structure. Le King's 20,000x cap is the highest in the series, but it is tied specifically to Jackpot Marker activation, which requires Neon Rainbow co-presence — a condition that does not apply in the other three games.

Is Le King available on mobile?

Yes. Le King runs on iOS and Android in both portrait and landscape orientations. All features including Bonus Buy and Autoplay are accessible on mobile. Tested on iPhone 14 and Samsung Galaxy S23 — performance was consistent on both.

Player reviews of Le King

  • James, London (2026): "Hit a Major and a Mega Jackpot Marker on the same Neon Rainbow spin during Jackpot of Gold — both paid out together, 1,100x in a single activation. The reactivatable squares meant those same positions triggered again two spins later with a Gold Clover multiplying a Treasure Pot. Best session I've had in the series."
  • Claire, Manchester (2026): "The Shamrock & Roll FeatureSpins at 60x per spin is genuinely useful — guaranteed Rainbow every spin means you're always activating Golden Squares if there are any. Used it for about 15 spins before natural Jackpot of Gold triggered. Paid for itself."
  • Tom, Edinburgh (2026): "Played on Samsung S23 — animations are clean and the Jackpot Marker reveal sequence is satisfying on a smaller screen. The base game rhythm is similar to Le Bandit but the Rainbow dependency here feels sharper because there's a jackpot at stake each time. Watching a Max Marker appear with no Rainbow is genuinely tense."
  • Rachel, Bristol (2026): "The Golden Square reactivation in Jackpot of Gold is what sets this apart from the rest of the series. Same positions revealing a second round of Coins and Clovers after the first Pot collection is a different kind of payout structure — less predictable than Le Viking's fixed Grid Multipliers, more exciting when it chains."
  • Dan, Leeds (2026): "Checked RTP before playing — my casino was on 96.14%, which is the standard. Worth confirming because the jackpot potential here makes the difference between RTP configurations more meaningful than in a non-jackpot slot. At 88% or similar you're giving up too much expected return on jackpot activation frequency."
  • Sophie, Birmingham (2026): "Viva Le Bandit triggered naturally after about 100 spins — 5 scatters at once. The elevated Jackpot Marker frequency was noticeable immediately; hit Mini twice and Major once across the 10 spins. Didn't get a Max but the round paid around 180x overall. The fact you can't buy this mode makes it feel more rewarding when it actually lands."
